What is tedium?

tedium is a place for you to store your to-do lists online.

So you can keep track of all those things you need to remember to do, and get access to them wherever you can get onto the Internet.

Plus it lets you organize how you view all those tasks by assigning tags to them, so that you can filter out everything else and just focus on the job at hand.

Or you can see what you need to do next, by looking at which tasks are due today... or this week... or this month... or next week... or tomorrow... or... you get the idea.

I don't understand what these tags are?

Tags are just a keywords or names that you can use to group your tasks together. You can many tags to each task, so they can be used for the project that a task is part of, or the priority of the task, or where the task needs to be done, or any combination.

There's more detail in the tutorial so what are these 'tag' things?.

Can I only use it on my computer?

No, one of the benefits of tedium is that you can use it wherever you have access to the Internet. At home... at work... in that little Internet cafe you pop into when you've forgotten why it was you came into town...

How much does it cost?

The first 30 days are free, so you've got plenty of time to try it out and see if it helps you keep track of what you want to do and helps you get more done.

After that, it costs $19.95 for a year's subscription. And don't worry, we won't start your subscription until the 30 days trial has finished.

Can I print out my tasks?

Of course you can. Just use the print option in your web browser and you'll get a version of your list specially formatted for paper.

Basically it will strip off the parts that don't make sense once they're printed out - it's quite hard to click on a "completed" button on paper, so you get a little tick-box instead; and unfortunately we haven't worked out how to accept new tasks that have been written onto the page, so you don't get the "new task" form either. But that does mean your tasks will use up less paper!

Do I have to be connected to the Internet to see my tasks?

You do. At present the only way to keep a list of your tasks for when you aren't connected to the 'Net is to either print them out, or save the web page to your computer.

Neither of these options are ideal, as you won't be able to add new tasks or complete or edit existing ones. We're looking into a way that will solve this problem, but that isn't ready just yet.

What happens to my tasks if my trial or my subscription expires?

Don't worry, they won't be lost. At least not straight away.

All your tasks, views, tags, etc. will be kept safe for up to six months after your trial or subscription has expired. When you subscribe (again) they will all still be there waiting for you.

If for some reason you don't want to subscribe, get in touch and we'll sort our a way to send you a copy of them.

Is there a way to export my tasks from tedium?

Not yet. Being able to export all your tasks to either a file, or to an iCal/vCal calendar, or via RSS is on the roadmap to be developed in the future.

However, if you want to get a copy of your tasks then let us know and we'll sort something out.
